PROVIDER INSURANCE GIVES AMATEUR STUDENTS REAL LIFE PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Wayland High School music students are given a chance of a lifetime to write a jingle for a local award winning insurance agency.
Needham, MA. Provider Insurance is always looking for new and innovative ways to get involved within the local communities. This year, Provider decided to partner with Wayland High School music students. Provider created a contest where they “hired” these students to create a jingle for their company. Each student will create his/her jingle and then they will be presented on YouTube, where people can vote for their favorite jingle. The jingle that receives the most votes has a chance to be featured in a paid local radio spot. The students used music software such as Garage Band and Finale to create and compose the jingles.
Provider Insurance will be awarding $1,000 to the entire music theory class, at the completion of the jingle contest in June, to purchase new instruments. Band Director, Joe Oneschuk comments, "Projects that connect students with the real word are so important and valuable. This project has allowed students to create, express themselves, and explore music software and the business aspect of music. We are so thankful to Provider Insurance for helping to support music and the arts in our public schools.”
President/CEO, Bill Darcey said, “It’s so fulfilling to see students so excited and dedicated to these projects. We are so happy that we are in the position to be able to help the community out and give the kids some real world experience and media exposure in the process.”
The students’ jingles will be posted on Provider Insurance’s YouTube channel for the public to vote. For the YouTube channel link, please check out Provider’s website www.providerig.com
